Nabbed from [livejournal.com profile] elliptic_eye.

When you see this, post an excerpt from as many random works-in-progress as you can find lying around. Who knows? Maybe inspiration will burst forth and do something, um, inspiration-y.

My WIPs folder hates me. I swear, sometimes when I'm alone in the room I can feel its bitter, scheming gaze. Dozens of beady little fic-eyes, staring at me. Judging. And so, as a sort of blood sacrifice to the fandom gods (who like blood sacrifice well enough, but prefer entrails) here are bits of six of them - Doctor Who, Inception, and SyFy's Alice in this post, Star Trek, Merlin, and Sherlock in the next.

Already Here. Doctor Who, Ten II/Rose. Adult.

or: Rose Tyler's adventures in a prison of the miiiiind. )

The Long Game
. Inception, Arthur/Ariadne. Teen.

arthur goes domestic. or so he thinks. )

Untitled. SyFy's Alice, Alice/Hatter. Teen.

Rating: All Ages.

Warnings: None.

Betas: The lovely [livejournal.com profile] mylittlepwny, who inspired this little act of insanity, and the ever-fabulous [livejournal.com profile] eponymous_rose.

Notes: A Doctor Who/Wizard of Oz fusion. Partly in the style of Mr. Baum, partly inspired by the 1939 film, and partly just plain odd. Part two of three.

Title: In Good Spirits

Characters: Ten II, Rose Tyler

Rating: Teen

Warnings: None.

Spoilers: Through Journey's End.

Summary: "Give me a month," she says. "In a month, I'll know what to say."  In which there is some angst, but mostly silly drunkenness.

Author's Note: Written for a challenge at [livejournal.com profile] then_theres_us. The link, she will take you there.

Title: Possibilities, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bananas

The conclusion of my thrilling tale is too long for one post; thus, it has been divided into two.

Part One

Part Two

Part Three )

Title: Possibilities, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bananas

Characters: Rose Tyler, Mickey Smith, Jake Simmonds, Pete Tyler, Jackie Tyler, Original Character Tyler, a large number of bananas, and a Mystery Guest Star.

Rating: Teen.

Warnings: None.

Beta: Over the two years - yes, two years - since I started writing this piece of ridiculousness, [livejournal.com profile] jlrpuck, [personal profile] eponymous_rose, and [livejournal.com profile] earlgreytea68 have all been kind enough to look it over. They are kind souls, and I do not deserve them.

Spoilers: Most of this was written before series four aired. Therefore, no spoilers past Doomsday - though Donna does get a mention.

Summary: This is, in the inestimable words of [livejournal.com profile] mylittlepwny, "THE FIC IN WHICH ROSE KEEPS FINDING BANANAS EVERYWHERE AND IT IS NOT A CONTINUAL PENIS JOKE FROM MICKEY AND JAKE BUT ACTUALLY A FOLLOW-THE-MAGICAL-MYSTICAL-BANANAS-HOME-AGAIN SOMETHING OR OTHER."

Author's Note: At some point this stopped being crack fic. I know - it worries me, too.

Part Two )

Title: Of Monsters

Characters: the Tylers, Mickey Smith, Jake Simmonds, the Master, others.

Rating: Strong R for language, violence, and disturbing themes.

Spoilers: Through series three. Thoroughly AU after that point.

Warnings: Character death, character resurrection, and other unpleasantness.

Betas: [personal profile] jlrpuck and [personal profile] eponymous_rose, each of them awesome personified.

Summary: "How bad would the thing in the dark have to be," he says, "to scare a girl like Rose Tyler?"

The next story in the Amor Mundi series, following Do I Twist, Do I Fold and Good Night.

Of Monsters )

Title: The Rather Odd Couple

Characters: Tenth Doctor, Rose Tyler.

Rating: Teen.

Spoilers: Massive, incandescent spoilers for 4.13, Journey's End.

Summary: "You can't spend the rest of your life crying. It annoys people in the movies."  - Neil Simon's The Odd Couple. An angst-free look at life after...well, you know.

Notes: And so I jump on the post-ep bandwagon. This is almost crack, almost fluff, almost serious. It is almost all these things, and it is entirely silly.

Title: The Boy Who Killed Time (The Last Love Song Remix)

Characters:
Tenth Doctor, Martha Jones, others.

Rating: All Ages.

Spoilers: Through Series Three episode The Lazarus Experiment. Includes Classic Series.

Summary: There are ghosts in the TARDIS, and music in the corridors.

Beta:
The phenomenally talented [personal profile] eponymous_rose, who has been my Classic Who Zen Master these many months. She rocks it old school and new.

A/N: My submission to [community profile] remixredux08. This is a remix of [personal profile] netgirl_y2k's chillingly beautiful The Boy Who Killed Time.

Title: The Doctor Complex

Characters: Tenth Doctor, Rose Tyler

Rating: This fic is rated S, for Sacrilege. (Secularly speaking, it's All Ages.)

Disclaimer: Not mine.

Spoilers: That series four casting spoiler. Also, Testaments both Old and Slightly Less Old.

Summary: "Maybe the question you should be asking yourself is this: Is he a doctor with a god complex, or a god with a doctor complex?" A loving, rather farcical take on certain pervasive New Who themes.

A/N: I'm easily amused. That is my only excuse. (And yes, that is a free will/predestination gag at the end. I crack myself up, I do.)

Title: Possibilities, or : How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bananas

Characters: Rose Tyler, Mickey Smith, Jake Simmonds, Pete Tyler, Jackie Tyler, Original Character Tyler, and a large number of bananas.

Rating: Teen

Disclaimer: None of these good people belong to me.

Beta: The unparalleled [livejournal.com profile] jlrpuck, who is entirely to blame. For everything.

Spoilers: Doomsday and naught else.

Summary: Rose Tyler lives the life fantastic, her feet on the ground and her head in the stars. A Pete's World fic. With bananas.

Author's Note: As [livejournal.com profile] jlrpuck reminded me this morning, it's been eight months since we entered into a small wager, the terms of which were as follows: A Moonstruck mocha--or a ficlet--says you can't write a fic of moderate length, centered around a banana, that is completely innuendo free. Eight months or no, the second half of the fic is still not quite complete. Yet I have decided - against my better judgment, oh yes - to post this first chapter as a public declaration of my commitment to its speedy completion.

Also, I can't think of a more appropriate day than April Fool's to share this bit of strangeness.

Title: Mirrors

Characters: Tenth Doctor, Rose

Rating: All Ages

Disclaimer: They belong to someone who is certainly not me.

Spoilers: Series Two

Summary: "Who would I be, do you think, if I hadn't met you?"  Reflections, makeup, and mirrors.

Title: Stuck on You

Characters: Tenth Doctor, Rose Tyler

Rating: All Ages

Warnings: For immature humor and other grossness.

Disclaimer: Nothing you see belongs to me.

Spoilers: None

Summary: "I'm gonna stick like glue - stick, because I'm stuck on you." -- Elvis Presley, Stuck on You. The Doctor and Rose have an adventure in adhesives.

A/N: This past week's [profile] doctor_rose_las entry, now with an all-new ending! Oh, the suspense...

rosa_acicularis: (Default)
Title: Tall Tales

Characters: Tenth Doctor, Mickey Smith, Rose Tyler

Rating: All Ages

Disclaimer: Nothing you see belongs to me.

Spoilers: Series Two.

Summary: A bit of friendly conversation just before The Rise of the Cybermen.

rosa_acicularis: (Default)
Title: Heights

Characters: Tenth Doctor, Rose

Rating: PG

Disclaimer: Mine, they are not.

Spoilers: None to speak of.

Summary: "Ooh, that's high. That's very...blimey, that's high." -- The Doctor, Evolution of the Daleks.

Notes: My entry for last week's round of fics at [profile] doctor_rose_las. The prompt was 'phobia'.

Title: The Loofah Incident

Characters
: Tenth Doctor, Rose

Rating
: PG for strangeness, nudity, and laundry hampers.

Spoilers
: Nada. Zip. Zilch.

Disclaimer
: If they were mine, I'm sure I would have noticed by now. I stole the title from [personal profile] eponymous_rose. (Though she probably wouldn't have remembered - I should have tried to pass it off as my own. Damn.)

Summary
: A (perhaps unfortunate) expansion on a throwaway joke from my story Incurable:

“It wouldn’t be the first time you’ve tried to drag me into some harebrained scheme when I should be sleeping or eating or, you know, bathing
.” One particularly embarrassing incident involving a loofah sprang to mind, and she scowled at him. He didn’t seem to notice.
