Still haven't finished responding on the last tv meme I posted, but hey - after a busy morning, I'm settling down on the couch to spend the rest of the day bumming around on the internet, watching a BBC miniseries starring the Ginger Ninja (aka Charlie Crews), and slurping down little boxes of apple juice. I am inordinately excited about this.

These aren't exactly my top ten shows of all time, but each contains one standout character that I adore with all my little bitty heart.

a. Post a list of 10 TV shows you love (current or canceled);
b. Have your friends list guess your favorite character from each show;
c. When guessed bold the line and write a little bit about why you like that character;
d. Post in your own livejournal.

1) The West Wing - Joshua Lyman  (It is entirely his fault that I find arrogance so attractive.)
2) The Office (US) - Dwight K. Shrute. (I hate beets, but my god, do I love that man.)
3) Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Rupert Giles (TWEED.)
4) The Muppet Show - Gonzo the Great (I do not feel that this requires an explanation.)
5) Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends - Wilt (Sorry!)
6) The O.C.
7) Ugly Betty - Marc St. James. ("A word of advice: be who you are, wear what you want, just learn to run real fast." Need I say more?)
8) Pushing Daises - Olive Snook (She made unrequited love cool again.)
9) Grey's Anatomy - Dr. Miranda Bailey (Because there's no way I'd ever be able to swallow all that wonderful melodrama without Bailey there to kick their little whiny asses.)
10) Highlander: The Series - Methos (It's the nose, dudes. And the snark. And the amorality. And the jumpers. If Nine and Ford Prefect had an immortal love child...)

ETA: Really? No one imagined that my all-time favorite character from my darling O.C. would be the excellent Summer Roberts? Ew.

OMG LIFE.

I find this show ridiculously satisfying. I am constantly amazed by how beautifully each episode comes together, and this two-parter just blew me away. Bobby and Reece continue to made of an awesome of which I once could have only dreamt. And after a full day of watching Damian Lewis play so many very different roles (from eccentric Paul in the odd yet excellent Friends and Crocodiles to dorktastic Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing to brilliantly awful Soames in The Forsyte Saga) it was wonderful to come back to Charlie Crews, whom I love without reservation.

Though to be fair, Benedick remains the only Shakespearean character I've ever developed a serious crush on. Because of the SILLY.
