Notes: This is the first chapter of the pseudo-novel that I'm working on for my pseudo-novel writing class. For lack of a better explanation, let's say that it's something like The Royal Tenenbaums + Edgar Allen Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher + something else that's absolutely nothing like either of those things. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet.
