i do not have a meme addiction. i can stop any time i want to.
One more meme, courtesy of
jlrpuck. This one is timely, given my recent obsession with acquiring new icons.
Comment on this post. I will choose seven userpics from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are using them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.

Here goes:

This one's by
jiyu_gurafikkus. After all my intriguing conversations with Kate and Chloe about the Beatles, I sorely felt the need for some sort of Fab Four icon. This one of Ringo really popped out at me. Because...parrot!

Made by
kalijean, whose stuff is just gorgeous. I've often been called a treehugger in my time - not so much because I'm an active environmentalist (though I try), but because I have a tendency to actually hug trees. I climb them, I hug them, I..um...talk to them. Occasionally. Not so much anymore. Anyway, I love the perspective of this photograph, and the bare limbs against the sky.

A Life on Mars icon by
paintedxlie. Sam Tyler with an umbrella. Indoctrinated by a childhood adoration of Mary Poppins, Mr. Tumnus from Narnia, and Singin' in the Rain, I have a serious umbrella fetish. Well, not fetish, not really. Maybe fixation? Yes, fixation will do. (I also cite Narnia and Rain as the sources of my lamppost issues.)

Sakes alive, it's number Five! Made by
becky_writing. I don't have a favorite Doctor, but I admit that I find Five endlessly fascinating. And I do love it when he gets his snark on. Also, I felt the need for a 'Bitch, please' icon. Not that I've ever used it - I don't think I'm snarky/indignant enough for LJ. I'm working on that.

A Ted quote from my beloved How I Met Your Mother. This show is ridiculously (redonkulously) quotable, and I love it to itty-bitty sitcom pieces. Also, foods high in sugar often induce undue prevarication. Then again, so does breathing. It's time to play, "Have you met
un_den_iable?"

Okay,
jlrpuck started this. This banana obsession? All her doing. After a conversation about hangover cures and various uses of the fruit in question, she bet me that I could not write a fic of moderate length centered around a banana that did not contain banana innuendo. AND I AM TOTALLY GOING TO WIN. As soon as I finish the damned fic. The lovely icon is by
ilmadris.

There are so many amazing icons of Simm!Master out there, but this one by
indiexicons is by far my favorite. It jives very nicely with the way I think of the character. The Master is in many ways the embodiment of one of the oldest villain types - he wants to rule the universe, for heaven's sake. How old-fashioned is that? The words at the side - 'evil genius', 'master', 'time lord' - if you think about it too much (which obviously I have) it's an odd, contradictory list. 'Evil genius' is a very human sort of cliche that doesn't fit well at all with the Time Lord way of things - but for the Doctor, Simm!Master's Time Lordiness is everything. Those few lines in "Sound of Drums" about the names the Master and the Doctor chose for themselves delight me to no end. So very revealing. He is the Master - but of what? He always ends up alone. He always loses, runs off or 'dies', only to appear again with another disguise and another plot. He's such a dweeb. *cuddles evil bastard*
