look, mom! i've done been interviewed!

So [livejournal.com profile] pendrecarc (who is an awesome person) is doing an interview series for the female character focused Holmesian comm [livejournal.com profile] furtherinterest (which is an awesome comm) and if you go here (for livejournal, which is occasionally awesome) or here (for dreamwidth, which I rarely use but still find pretty awesome) you can read the questions she asked me, and the answers I gave. I think her summary says it best:

The author of "The Anatomist" bares all!

Her COMPLICATED RELATIONSHIP with rough drafts...!
The Sherlock fic she's PANTING TO READ...and
A TANTALISING GLIMPSE into her current WIP!!!

Meanwhile, your intrepid moderator tries very hard to pretend this is an episode of "Fresh Air", and by a supreme effort of willpower the conversation does not devolve into Laurie R. King fangirling and odes to Peter Wimsey's monocle.

It is actually very much like an episode of Fresh Air, I think, only with more discussion of sociopathy, genderswap, magic, and what a weird dude Arthur Conan Doyle was. Basically, there is awesomeness. Oh, and a number of unfortunate attempts on my part to be witty and/or insightful. The and is the worst. Oh boy, that and.

You are a lovely person, m'dear. :)

INTERVIEW.
META.
ROSA_ACICULARIS.
As Sherlock would say, "ohh, it's Christmas" :D

This is fascinating reading - well done pendrecarc! These interviews are such a neat idea!
And rosa_acicularis, you are just fricking brilliant. It's - I actually can't think of another word - fascinating, reading your thoughts about characterization and fandom and fic and hearing about your process. Though it's distinctly unfair of you to be waving all these fic ideas in front of our noses. I've checked this on the fairometer and there are readings in the yellow in several places here, for 'downright cheeky'.
What a great quote from "Anatomist", too. As a fan, thank y'all for giving us this exclusive interview to read!

Aren't they? I can't wait to read the other ones she has lined up for the coming weeks.

And rosa_acicularis, you are just fricking brilliant.

D'aww. You're makin' me blush.

No matter what sort of 'meter people use, I always seem to set it off toward cheekiness. Why is that, do you think? ;)

Also, your icon cracks me up. They have an uncle in CHEAPSIDE? Oh, the humiliation.

Maybe you were exposed to radiation as a child? You should probably offer to turn yourself in as a subject for science.

The Bingley sisters are amazing.

Dude, I would listen to an actual episode of Fresh Air containing these things SO HARD. Also, I think you do a pretty damn good job with being witty and insightful.

I enjoy NPR a great deal, but I think a few more conversations about genderswap and ACD would do it a lot of good. Just saying.

I think you do a pretty damn good job with being witty and insightful.

Thank you! The insightful part can entirely be attributed to [livejournal.com profile] pendercarc's excellent questions, but that golden wit is all me. ;)

Okay, I'll admit that I came away from this interview going okay I am going to have to friend her, I just have to do it, which is something I've wanted to do for a while anyway, but this cemented it. I mean, The Anatomist is one of my favourite fics anyway, but your discussion of the writing practice was completely fascinating (and actually, we have a scary amount of common ground when it comes to the process and our interests). So yes, would it be alright for me to friend you? :)

DO IT. Then I will friend you back, and we will be all cool and friends and stuff. It'll totally rock. ;)

N'aww, you're all big and growed up and being INTERVIEWED!

I rather enjoy that you have a long and storied history of being beaten by betas. *satisfied smile*
