oh misery. oh woe. oh #@%*.
Okay, so here's a funny story:
I was working on my thesis at about...oh, three o'clock this morning, when suddenly MY LAPTOP DIED.
Died. Is no more. Has passed on. Choir invisible. Pushing daises. More random John Cleese-type shit.
D-E-A-D.
I'm not going to lie to you, folks - I cried. Wept like an angry, soiled baby. Railed against all sorts of theological hypotheticals. Because desperate internet addiction aside, MY THESIS IS DUE IN SIXTEEN DAYS, EIGHT-TEEN HOURS, AND FIFTY-FOUR MINUTES AND I AM DOOMED.
Now, technically, I only lost about five days worth of work. Not the end of the world. Not really. (*whimper*) And once it returns, resurrected, from the people I apparently have to ship it to, I should get everything back. (The fan fiction is also safe. Thank god.) BUT I WON'T...ahem. Excuse me. But I won't get the computer back for at least another twenty days. Yes, that's right - twenty days, at best.
I DON'T HAVE TWENTY DAYS. I AM DOOMED. I HATE LIBRARY COMPUTERS.
The keyboards are all sticky and they smell like college student. All my music is gone. I'm never going to see the inside of my apartment again. And I'm not going to be able to watch the Children in Need special until December! (Yes, I have my priorities in line. Why do you ask?)
At least I was already boycotting the TV shows I usually watch online in support of the Writer's Guild strike. This should make that easier.
Oh god. I miss my computer.
