Her: I bought your birthday present today.

Me: Ooh! What is it?

Her: I'm not going to tell you.

Me: I'll know in a week anyway. What does a week matter? Why don't you just tell me now?

Her: You know, despite being an otherwise fairly bright young person, this is a concept you've never quite been able to grasp: it's a surprise.

Me: Please tell me?

Her: I don't even know why I bother.

Her: I'm not telling you.

Me: Is it a book?

Her: I'm not telling you.

Me: Is it a zeppelin?

Her: You need to stop watching that show.

Her: It's a sonic screwdriver, a torch flashlight thingy. I don't know. It's from England.

Me: OH MY GOD THAT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN A PONY.
