WARNING: this meme contains opinions. only some of them are mine.

Thoughts! Some of which are - gasp - political.

Would you do meth if it was legalized?
Well, that would depend on whether the companies who market it convince me that it will make me smarter, cooler, and sexier. (Apparently weight loss is a common long-term side effect of meth use. Damn that pesky dependence and death thing...)

Abortion: for or against?
Dude. Being Pro-Choice does not make me "for" abortion. Good grief. Abortion Politics 101.

Would your country fall with a woman president?
No, but you would take quite the tumble if my woman Hillary decided to kick your ass.

Do you support the death penalty?
No. Moral arguments aside: our justice system is fallible, and will always be so. We don't get to kill people. End of story.

Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
While not high on my list of priorities, I do think the world would be a far more logical place if pot were legal. Well. Logical and smelly. (I'm sorry - pot reeks like stale skunk vomit. It just does.)

Are you for or against premarital sex?
Seriously?

Do you believe in God?
Yes. Sort of. Mostly. It's complicated.

Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
Yes. And unlike some of these issues, I have never heard an argument against gay marriage that didn't sound absolutely ridiculous. I'm pretty sure there are rules against being an atheist in the Bible, too. ("I am the Lord your God," etc. It's in one of those commandment thingys.) What's next? Faith Exams before you can get a marriage license?

Hmm. Maybe I shouldn't give them ideas.

Do you think it’s wrong that so many illegal Hispanics are moving to the USA?
Wrong? No. A complicated issue that should be addressed with as much delicacy and generosity as pragmatically possible? Yes.

A 12 year old girl has a baby... should she keep it?
The only earthly way this would ever be any of my business would be if I were the twelve year-old girl or a member of the twelve year-old girl's family. In which case I may actually be informed of the particulars of the situation and able to form an opinion.

Should the alcohol age be lowered to 18?
I am skeptical that it would make any significant difference in a culture that, quite frankly, seems largely unable to live with itself while sober. But maybe that's just me.

(Ooh, listen to me. I'm so mean and cynical. Grr.)

Should the war in Iraq be called off?
Sigh. Yeah, that would probably be a good idea. *cough*AfganistanPakistanIranNorthKorea*cough*

(I feel a nasty nuclear proliferation cold coming on.)

Assisted suicide is illegal... do you agree?
No.

Do you believe in spanking your children?
Not really. In my (limited) experience, the more you treat children like rational creatures the more likely they are to act like rational creatures. This doesn't always work, of course. (No matter what our age, we are all only pretending at rationality, after all.) Still, I'd always advocate a fair, strict talking-to over an emotional, physical punishment.

Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
No. I would burn a flag, but not for money.

(Unless they paid upfront.)

A mother is declared innocent after murdering her 5 children in a temporary insanity case... do you agree?
...Do I agree with what? I think the case and the sentencing was probably a little more complex than 'she killed five children, she spent the weeks after her trial on a beach somewhere getting a lovely tan and drinking mimosas'.

Mmm. Mimosas.

(What was I saying about the evils of alcohol?)

Are you afraid others will judge you after reading some of your answers?
I really don't think I said anything that incendiary.

(I could be wrong.)
